The Case of Saheli HIV/AIDS Karyakarta Sangh

Saheli HIV/AIDS Karyakarta Sangh is a collective of sex workers and a community-based organization founded in 1998 in Pune (Maharashtra, India), with a mission to empower women in prostitution through collectivization.

In August 2012, 17 members of Saheli participated in the Imagine Empowerment Workshop, designed to strengthen women in challenging life circumstances, enabling them to envision and create new possibilities for their lives, families, and communities through active engagement.

The research presented here aims to evaluate the impact of the Imagine Empowerment Workshop and the empowerment of the sex workers of Saheli HIV/AIDS Karyakarta Sangh, with a particular focus on the areas of interest for this collective.
